About Me / Biography

"It is not what you look at that matters, it's what you see".

-Henry David Thoreau-

Doing art is hard work but also pure pleasure. My creative process is a way of living, my voice. The process is playful but also a tool that helps coping with life's past and present.

Growing up in an environment where women dominated in number and importance has in various ways influenced my way of perceiving the world, which is also evident in my artwork that often results in female figures. I see the woman as an abstract being in constant change; sometimes colorful and outward-looking and sometimes withdrawn and even hurt, dark and quiet. Like the seasons, like life itself and like me. Everything must be allowed to exist and letting our experiences in life shine through our eyes is the most beautiful thing there is.

I am curious and push myself to try and explore different kinds of media and material, which create unexpected textures and dimentions. Even though many of my images are painted with cheer colors, there might be a touch of a darker expression underneath. My message is that we are complex states of mind, not only the surface we first might choose to look at.

My life takes place on two islands;  the island of Stromboli in Italy and  the island of Gotland in Sweden. The contrasts between these islands are significant and they add a variety of energies to my soul which also effects my art process as the choice of colors and expressions.

Welcome and enjoy!
